Ron Hoang Truong {BSO}
A man was arrested after police say he was crying, barking, and hurling racial slurs at a Bar Louie bartender before jumping out of a moving vehicle and resisting arrest.
Coconut Creek Police Department records show that Ron Hoang Truong, 28, of Boca Raton, was taken into custody around 11:55 p.m. on January 4 after officers responded to reports of disorderly behavior at the Promenade at Coconut Creek, near Bar Louie.
Officers were dispatched to the area following complaints that Truong had been at Bar Louie with coworkers when a friend purchased a round of alcoholic drinks. The bartender later told police that after Truong took a shot, he began crying, then allegedly barked like a dog and yelled racial slurs inside the bar, prompting staff to stop serving him.
Witnesses say Truong was escorted out multiple times before finally leaving Bar Louie for good.
Police say Truong’s friends took his car keys due to his level of intoxication and attempted to drive him away from the area. While inside the vehicle, Truong reportedly became irate and jumped out while the vehicle was still moving. Officers arrived to find Truong’s friends trying to restrain him outside a nearby store in the Promenade complex, according to the report
When officers attempted to calm and detain Truong, he allegedly refused to follow commands, tensed his body, and pulled his arms underneath himself to avoid being handcuffed. He was eventually taken to the ground and restrained.
Coconut Creek Fire Rescue responded to the scene and checked Truong’s well-being. Police noted that Truong continued to accuse officers of trying to rob him while they discussed transporting him for medical evaluation
Truong was transported to the Broward County Main Jail, where he was later released after posting a $650 bond.
