Monarch High School continues to produce incredible wide receivers.

They officially had three more players sign to play in college Jesse Fields, Walter Parrish, and Josh Pena

These three players led Monarch to their first District Championship since 2014 and had 2,052 receiving yards and 21 touchdowns. They also helped the Knights win in the Regional Quarterfinals over Boca Raton Community High School.

Jesse Fields is signed with Tusculum University in Tennessee.

“It feels great to officially sign and be part of the family there at Tusculum University,” said Fields.

Fields has played tackle football since he was five on the Lauderhill Lakes Vikings. He played varsity with Plantation High School before playing this past season with the Knights.

He says the biggest reason for signing was the coaches and how the school made him feel at home. Tusculum had eight wins in 11 games last year. Before heading to college, Fields wants to improve his speed and add more muscle.

Parrish is signed to play at St. Thomas University in Miami Gardens.

“Coach Drew Davis made me feel at home. I am ready to turn the city up and grind on to bigger and better things,” Parrish said. “I’m also for my grandma and auntie also.”

Parrish began playing football as a quarterback and cornerback for the Pompano Eagles. He also played for Pompano Tigers, Chiefs, and Steelers before spending four years on the varsity football team. He is set to join a team coming off a dominant year in 2022, going 10-1.

Pena is now officially signed to play at Florida International University

He began playing football with Lauderhill Broncos before joining the Tamarac Cougars. Pena then played in Orlando for two years before returning and playing with the Coral Springs Chargers.

“What stood out was the attitude and mindset the coaching staff had and the feel of it being home, Pena said.  “I’m ready to go in and work hard and i feel like they are all about that and want to win.”

Pena started his high school career at Coral Glades, helping the Jaguars reach the State Playoffs for the first time in school history. He finished at Monarch and will play for FIU next year after they went 4-6 a season ago.
