Coconut Creek is looking forward to a new fire station that will serve the city’s central region.
The new fire station 113 will be on Main Street at Coconut Creek behind Monarch High School. According to fire chief Jeff Gary, it is not known exactly where the station will be located because work on the site has not been completed.
According to Gary, the new station will house a fire engine, rescue truck, and a large pickup truck for the battalion chief. It will also include living quarters for firefighters, training rooms, and a section for administrative offices.
This new station is needed because the current station serving the area is in a temporary building and is inadequate for the community’s emergency needs. Work is still being done on the station’s design.
“We need a new, up-to-date fire station. Fire station 113 will serve a growing community, and we need this station for our firefighters,” said Gary.
A representative from Coconut Creek presented preliminary information on the new station during an August 20 Coral Springs Coconut Creek Regional Chamber of Commerce meeting at the Coconut Creek Community Center. The station is a major part of the city’s budget plans.
