Calling all rookies! The Instructional Chess Club is set to kick off this April, offering elementary school students in Coconut Creek a chance to sharpen their minds and master the game of kings.

Open to players of all skill levels, from novices to seasoned competitors; the club aims to provide a welcoming environment for young learners eager to explore the world of chess.

Held at the Recreation Complex located at 4455 Sol Press Boulevard, this engaging program will run every Friday from April 12th to May 17th, between 3:00 PM and 4:00 PM.

Participants aged 6 to 10 will have the opportunity to learn and play alongside their peers under the guidance of experienced staff members. For those new to the game, instructors will be on hand to offer assistance with understanding the rules and mastering basic strategies, ensuring that everyone can enjoy the thrill of competition.

To accommodate interested families, the club offers flexible registration options. Coconut Creek residents can secure their spot for $20 per session, while non-residents can participate for $30 per session. Payment can be made via credit card only.

Registration is currently ongoing, but spaces are limited, with slots available for up to eight participants. To secure a place, interested individuals are encouraged to register online at CoconutCreek.net/WebTrac or by visiting either the Recreation Complex or the Community Center at 1100 Lyons Road for walk-in registration.
