A Coconut Creek woman was arrested for battery and child abuse on Jan. 11 after striking a 16-year-old victim.
Police responded to a domestic violence call in the 6900 block of Julia Gardens, arresting Amani Wael Shehada, 36, after the victim reported she had struck her with a pole during an argument, according to the report.
A video taken by the victim shows Shehada intentionally striking the victim several times with the handle of a vacuum against her will, sustaining two bruises on her left leg as a result of the incident, according to police.
Shehada was arrested and transported to the Broward County Main Jail. She was later released on a $500 bond.
