The City of Coconut Creek has announced the launch of a Special Needs Bowling League designed for adults with special needs. This initiative is open to individuals of any bowling skill level and provides an inclusive and supportive environment.
The league is open to individuals aged 18 and older and will run from August 19 through October 14. Sessions are held every Monday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Participants are encouraged to arrive by 4:45 p.m. Please note that there will be no session on September 2, 2024.
Participants must meet certain criteria: they should possess independent bathroom skills, be able to follow basic instructions and be capable of participating in a group setting. If a participant does not meet these criteria, they must bring an assistant to provide supervision.
The fee is $100 for Coconut Creek residents and $120 for non-residents. Payment is accepted via credit card only. League participants will receive a league shirt.
The bowling sessions will be held at AMF Margate Lanes, located at 2020 N State Road 7, Margate, FL 33063. Unfortunately, transportation will not be provided.
Registration for this league is currently ongoing and will continue until all spots are filled. The league is limited to 30 participants, so early registration is recommended.
Interested individuals can register online at CoconutCreek.net/WebTrac or in person at the Community Center (1100 Lyons Road) or the Recreation Complex (4455 Sol Press Boulevard). Registration will not be accepted at the event location.
Participants must have a WebTrac account to register online. For assistance with setting up a WebTrac account, please contact the Community Center at 954-545-6670.
