Disney Offers Florida Resident Discount During Arts Festival

Florida residents can now take advantage of a special Walt Disney World rate and experience the EPCOT International Festival of the Arts free with admission.

The festival, which includes exclusive art-inspired food and beverages, Broadway-style shows, and unique Disney-themed masterpieces, runs through Feb. 21, 2022. It’s included with park admission, which Florida residents can get a deal on now. A two-day Florida resident ticket, one park per day, is on sale for $149, plus tax. The cost is usually $218 plus tax.

While art takes center stage, festival chef Kevin Downing told Parkland Talk this is an event foodies will want to attend. He describes the dishes as a mix of fine dining, playful and hearty food all inspired by art. 

“What we’re trying to do at the festival is really show food as an art form,” Downing said. “It’s a wide range of food including Latin inspired like the (Disney movie) Encanto Cocina where we have taken ingredients and inspiration from the film and tried to put it in the food studio.”

There are more than 15 different food studios with items like red-wine braised beef short ribs, char siu pork buns, fried risotto balls, and many more. 

Aside from the food, there are plenty of talented artists set up around the park displaying their pieces. There also are interactive experiences, including Disney animators teaching guests to draw Disney characters and taking part in a paint-by-numbers mural. 

Guests will also experience stars from Disney on Broadway performing legendary Disney songs. Performances are each day. 

“We’ve really tried to elevate the content of the festival and make it have its own identity,” Downing said. “It’s more than just beautiful food on a plate. We’re really telling a story.”
