A Coconut Creek woman was arrested for domestic violence and child abuse after allegedly striking a victim and throwing cooking oil.
On Dec. 17, Karisma Marie Jackson, 29, was arrested at the 3800 block of Lyons Road. According to police, Jackson allegedly struck the victim with a piece of a wooden kitchen cabinet, then threw cold cooking oil at him and an 11-year-old child.
Jackson has been living in the same household as the victim and the child for one year.
Based on a sworn recorded statement and the visible amount of cooking oil on both subjects, Jackson was charged with two counts of domestic battery and one count of child abuse with no injuries, according to police. She was released on a $5,000 bond.
