Marjory Stoneman Douglas' Jose Tabodoa Picks College Destination

The Marjory Stoneman Douglas football team has another student headed to play in college.

Jose Tabodoa III is set to play at Albright College in Pennsylvania after graduating this spring, calling the whole recruiting process exciting, and is eager to play at the next level.

“I wanted to continue my education and play football with a college that I felt connected with and truly understood my goals both academically and on the football field, said Taboada. “The coaches and staff at Albright College understood that, and it felt like home.”

Taboada began playing football when he was six and created a great relationship with Coach Cory Ball at the Boys and Girls Club-Bowie Bulldogs in Bowie, Maryland. He played eight years there before competing for the Davie Colts.

In high school, Taboada played two seasons on the junior varsity team at St. Thomas Aquinas before his two years with Head Coach Quentin Short and the Eagles.

In his first year, MSD won two games in the regular season before having the rest of their games cancelled due to COVID-19. As a senior, Taboada recorded 27 tackles — fifth on the team. He also had a sack and a quarterback hurry while MSD went 6-3 to advance to the State Playoffs.

“Jose has great attitude and he loves to compete, said Short. “He will be a great addition to their roster and definitely will raise the intensity level every day. Jose plays with great effort and has a motor.”
