The Marjory Stoneman Douglas Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (JROTC) competed in its first meet on campus and came in third place on Saturday.
With 13 schools and over 400 students participating, the reigning State Champions finished behind West Broward and Everglades High School.
There were five events, with the first being a 5k team run where students were timed until the last member crossed the line. The second event was litter carry, where members took turns carrying the litter for one mile. Teams then had to form a bridge until the last person on the team crossed. The fourth event was the tire flip which was capped off by an obstacle course.
The junior varsity team recorded a pair of third-place finishes in the fitness test and the rope bridge. The female officers finished second place in the litter carry and team run and third place in the fitness test and rope bridge. With the males and females competing together, MSD came in second in the fitness test and team run.
