Marjory Stoneman Douglas baseball has another athlete committing to play in college, with infielder Maddox Raley signing with Tallahassee Community College.
Raley made his debut with the Eagles in 2021 when they won a State and National Championship and finished as the top team in the country.
“It means the world to me to be committed knowing that I will have the opportunity to continue my baseball career in college is everything I dreamed of and really is a great feeling,” said Raley.
As a junior, Raley hit .333 and had an on-base percentage of .500. He also scored five runs and swiped a pair of bases, with both of them coming during MSD’s 16-0 win over Hollywood Hills High School.
Raley began playing baseball when he was three years old in Deerfield Beach before moving to Parkland in 4th grade. His decision, he says, to attend TCC, came down to the coaching staff as well as the family atmosphere.
“TCC has always been a top school for me just knowing the talent that comes in and out of their program, Raley added. “The facilities were great, and it just felt like the right fit for me.”
Tallahassee Community College is coming off a season where they went 19-31. Raley is set to join the team for the 2023 baseball season, but before attending, he will look to help the Eagles win another State Championship in 2022.
