State Rep Hunschofsky Extends Thanksgiving Wishes and Announces Community Events

State Rep Christine Hunschofsky.

From State Rep Christine Hunschofsky:

The month of November and the anticipation of the holiday season can be exciting for many of us as we look forward to celebrating and spending time with loved ones. It’s a time of gratitude and hopefully some cooler weather. However, it is also a time when many of us reflect on our own personal challenges or deal with the loss of loved ones no longer with us.

This holiday season, I wish all of you much love, gratitude, and happiness. If you can, please reach out to those you know who may be struggling. Sometimes, just checking in with others can be enough to make a difference. As a reminder, we also have 211-Broward.org, which can help you connect with resources available in the community.

On Tuesday, November 7, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m., at the Parkland Amphitheater (10555 Trails End, Parkland), our office is hosting a Florida Licensing on Wheels event in partnership with the Florida Department of Highway and Motor Vehicles and the City of Parkland.

FLOW mobiles offer the following services: change from out-of-state driver’s license to Florida license, renewals, duplicates for lost or stolen license, address/name changes, ID cards, reinstatements, Emergency Contact Information registration, and accessible parking placards. This event is open to everyone, but since limited slots are available, you need to make an appointment by reaching out to Linda Beauport in our office at 954-956-5600 or Linda.Beauport@myfloridahouse.gov.

This Veteran’s Day, we will come together to honor our veterans for their service to our great nation. While the men and women in our Armed Forces all came from different backgrounds and life experiences, they united around their love and devotion to our country and their willingness to serve and put themselves in harm’s way to defend the freedom of others.

To all who served in our Armed Forces, we thank you today and every day for your service, patriotism, and sacrifice to protect our way of life here at home. The cities of Coconut Creek (coconutcreek.net), Margate (margatefl.com), Parkland (cityofparkland.org), and Coral Springs (coral springs.gov) are all hosting Veteran’s Day events the morning of Saturday, November 11, at their Veterans Parks.

One of my favorite events to kick off Thanksgiving is the Pre-Thanksgiving Interfaith Unity Service that takes place this year on Tuesday, November 21, at 7:00 p.m. at First Church of Coral Springs at 8650 West Sample Road in Coral Springs.

This beautiful interfaith service brings together many different houses of worship from our northwest Broward community as we come together and give thanks for our blessings. If you have never been, I highly recommend checking it out this year.

My office team, my family, and I wish you and your family a very Happy Thanksgiving and hope you are surrounded by loved ones. Thank you for the opportunity to serve as your representative in Tallahassee.

If you need assistance, please call us at 954-956-5600. If you would like to learn more about our work in Tallahassee and in the district, please subscribe to our weekly newsletter by emailing Linda.Beauport@myfloridahouse.gov with “subscribe” in the subject line.
