Marjory Stoneman Douglas continues their success with two more student-athletes receiving athletic scholarships.

Maria Lugo Morin

Maria Lugo Morin is officially set to continue her volleyball career at St. Thomas University. Lugo Morin is coming off a terrific season with the Eagles and helped lead them to five victories. Those wins came against Coral Springs High School, Hollywood Hills, and Fort Lauderdale in the regular season before they beat Deerfield Beach and Coral Glades in the postseason.

St. Thomas won their first regular season championship since 2017. The Bobcats went 21-7 last year and will begin their new season on August 18 against Missouri Baptist University.

Rylee Thompson

Rylee Thompson, the daughter of Head Coach Patti Thompson, is set to compete at Florida Atlantic University next year. She was also one of six student-athletes to be recognized at the BCAA banquet this year.

The 2022 graduate had a memorable senior season helping her team to a win in Regionals. They ended up placing third in States in the small Co-Ed Tumbling Division.
