6 Marjory Stoneman Douglas Softball Players Receive Conference Awards

After a remarkable season that saw the Marjory Stoneman Douglas softball team win a District Championship, six of its players were honored with Conference Awards.

Victoria Diaz: First Team

Sophomore Victoria Diaz had a year to remember for the Eagles, making the First Team All-Conference Team. In 76 at-bats this season, she hit .357 and drove in 11 RBIs. She also had three doubles and scored 22 runs. Diaz also went 2-0 on the mound, helping the Eagles win 16 games this season. 

Olivia Alvarez: First Team

Olivia Alvarez also made the First Team after hitting a pair of home runs and driving in ten runs. The junior also had five extra base hits.

Jesyme Espinal: Second Team

In her first year with the Eagles, after playing with Coral Springs Charter, Jesyme Espinal pitched in 14 games and had an ERA of 3.01. She struck out 101 batters in 79 innings and recorded three of the team’s sixth home runs to land on the second team conference. 

Arianna Reynolds: Honorable Mention 

Freshman Arianna Reynolds was one of three players to be an honorable mention after hitting .391 with 12 RBIs and five extra-base hits. 

Isabella Silva: Honorable Mention

Isabella Silva also was an honorable mention after recording a home run and batting .349 with the Eagles. 

Addison Zajkowski: Honorable Mention

Addison Zajkowski was the team’s leading hitter with a .396 batting average. The freshman also had five doubles and drove in ten runs.
