It was quite the night for Parkland’s own Anthony Rizzo Tuesday night with the New York Yankees.

Rizzo homered three times in a game against the Baltimore Orioles for the first time in his career. His first home run came in the first inning of Jordan Lyles and drove in three runs. He added another one in the fifth before hitting his third in the eighth before receiving a curtain call at Yankee stadium.

He is now the league leader in home runs with eight to go along with his 18 RBIs. Not only that, three more home runs mean more dollars raised for children with cancer.

“It’s a game that I’ll never forget,” Rizzo said postgame. “Obviously a first-time game. A curtain call here at Yankee Stadium is special.”

Rizzo will look to continue his red-hot start to the season tonight in Game 2 of the Yankees’ three-game series with the Baltimore Orioles.  First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
