Coach Teddy Lyons and the Marjory Stoneman Douglas boys basketball team {MSD}

Not only did Marjory Stoneman Douglas boys basketball go 3-0 this week, but the Eagles also extended their win streak to five to move 5-2 this season.
MSD is also off to their greatest start since 2015 and their best record under Head Coach Teddy Lyons. MSD defeated Coral Glades, Hollywood Hills, and Northeast High School this week.
MSD vs. Coral Glades
On Monday, the Eagles began the week with a 53-51 win over Coral Glades. Evin Jenkins led MSD with 12 points, while Nick Frazier and Diego Rodriguez each had 11. Despite fouling out early in the fourth quarter, Sean Sucharichi recorded eight points along with Wesley Aurelus.

With the Eagles leading by 16 in the third quarter, Frazier picked up a steal and a layup after the Jaguars cut the deficit before Jenkins knocked down two free throws late to secure the win.
“Another game that could have gone either way down the stretch,” said Head Coach Teddy Lyons. “Give Coral Glades credit. They didn’t give us anything easy. These games aren’t over until the clock says zero.”
MSD vs. Hollywood Hills
Two days later, MSD was not at its best but managed to earn a victory against a team that had yet to win in Hollywood Hills.
Brandon Gopaul knocked down six three-pointers for a game-high of 18 points. Both Frazier and Sucharichi finished in double figures with 11 and ten points, respectively, while Aurelus had nine.
“I thought today was one of those weird games,” said Coach Lyons. “I didn’t think we played very clean, but the end result was we got a win. There’s a lot of things for us to work on, but I’m really happy.”
MSD vs. Northeast
The Eagles closed the week out on Friday with a 57-47 win over Northeast. Despite being down two starters, the Eagles had Sucharichi and Nick Fraizer combine for 30 points. Ty Stevens and Diego Rodriguez each had 12.

“I gotta look at the game film, but I thought this was the cleanest game we’ve played this year,” said Coach Lyons. “We have to build off of this.”
Next, the Eagles will play in a tournament on December 28-29 when they play Palm Beach Lake High School before playing Piper High School. Those two teams have combined to go 6-5 this year.
