Marjory Stoneman Douglas Boys Track and Field Finish 2nd, Girls 4th at Meet

Both the boys and girls track and field teams at Marjory Stoneman Douglas placed in the top five at the Last Chance Meet at Cardinal Gibbons High School.

The boys came in second place and were highlighted by Isiah Shaw, who came in first, and Ameer Hussain in second. Hussain also had a second-place finish in the high jump.

The Eagles also received a strong day from Sheldon Mccullum. The senior came in second in the 1600 meters and fourth in the 200.

Fabian Carzola finished in fourth in place in the pole vault, while Brian Gonzalez came in sixth in the 1600 meters. He also had a 12th place finish in the 400 meters.

In the 4 x 800, Ian Walsh, Tevye Singh, Alexander Fishman, and Lucas Da Palma finished in ninth.

Overall, the girls came in fourth place and had two second-place finishes from Jayah Portis in both the long jump and triple jump. She also came in tenth in the 300 hurdles.

In the 4 x 100, Sabrina Acevedo, Hannah Arnett, Selena Bronkhorst, and Gianna Hansen finished in third. Alana Veal had a strong day and came in fifth in the high jump and eighth in the long jump.

Hansen placed in fourth in the 100 hurdles, and Acevedo followed in 12th.
