Haley Berger.

“They’ve made themselves part of the elite classes that came through NBP and had lots of great results to show for it, head coach Jim Gabrione said. “Happy I was able to be their coach all four years and build relationships with all of them. NBP is lucky to have them.”

The girls basketball team will have their Senior Night on January 30 against St. John Paul II Catholic, but they already played three games this week.

The Eagles beat West Boca Raton Community High School 60-39 on Monday. Alexa Schwartz finished with 17 points, while Makena Longo Ysarar Pimenal was in double figures with 10. Sammy Edelson, Ana Abelleira, and Justina Zhou scored seven for the team’s ninth win.

NBP then beat Spanish River 57-34 on Tuesday, with Longo scoring 22 points. Schwartz had 18 points, with Pimenal adding ten before NBP was doubled up by Sports Leadership and Management 60-30 on Wednesday.

Head Coach Tommy Kohlwaies says the team has been batting the flu but has been impressed with their hard work.

“I really liked how we were able to play start to finish against West Boca and Spanish River, he said. “If we can get everyone healthy and on the same page, we can have a deep playoff push.”

Next, the Eagles will play Berean Christian High School on Monday, January 29, at 6 p.m. The Bulldogs are 10-2 this year and have won seven straight games, but lost 61-44 in their meeting with NBP last year.
