Parkland Crime Update: Bell Tower Vandalized With Graffiti

Through our joint effort with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to share updates to residents, this is a summary of crimes and other Parkland incidents through September 27, 2021.

Battery

Knight Street

On 09/22/2021, two contractors had a verbal argument over damaged work equipment. The victim claimed that the other punched him in the face. There were no visible injuries. The victim was advised on State Attorney procedures in reference to misdemeanor battery.

NW 108th Way

On 09/22/2021, deputies arrived in reference to a domestic violence call. Contact was made with both parties and the offender was later taken into custody.

NW 79th Place

On 09/23/2021, deputies responded in reference to a civil standby call. Upon further investigation, the victim provided video footage of previous domestic incidents with her and the offender. The offender was later placed under arrest and transported to BSO Main Jail without further incident.

Criminal Mischief

S. Miralago Way

On 09/23/2021, BSO received a delayed report of an incident of criminal mischief/vandalism in which an unknown subject drove a vehicle onto the grassy shoulder, damaging the grass.

S. Miralago Way

A delayed report of criminal mischief was made on 09/23/2021. A subject spray-painted graffiti on one of the walls of the bell tower. The complainant suspects a 14-year-old juvenile who lives in the community of committing the vandalism, but currently, there is no video or witness to positively identify the juvenile as the individual who committed the crime.

NW 77th Terrace

On 09/26/2021, a victim alleged that an unknown subject damaged her vehicle by shattering the front driver`s side door window.

Found Property

NW 83rd Place

On 09/21/2021, a deputy met with a man who recently moved into a residence and reported finding several boxes of .22 caliber ammunition while cleaning out his garage. The ammunition was submitted for destruction.

Information

N. University Dr.

On 9/21/2021, an unidentified male subject made a post on TikTok mentioning a store manager by name, store location, and phone number. The subject is inviting shoppers to harass the manager. No threats were made.

Parkside Drive

On 09/24/2021, three subjects were observed recording themselves having sex under the street light in the middle of the roadway in the 6600 block of Parkside Drive. One subject fled dropping his phone and could not be located. The other two subjects were run on Teletype and released, due to no independent witness/victims observing them.

Suspicious Incident

Holmberg Road

On 09/24/2021, the reporting person was eastbound on Holmberg Rd passing Pine Island Rd when she saw a blue older pickup truck with two ladders parked on the side of the road. The driver, a male, with a red beard and ball cap was talking to a female child. The child was on a scooter. The reporting person thought it was suspicious and made a u-turn. They were still talking. The girl did not appear to be in distress. The reporter thinks another car stopped as well. The man then casually got in the vehicle and drove off. Unknown if they were related, she just believed it was odd.

Arrests

Metzger, Cassandra Simone, 41, was arrested on charges of Touch Or Strike/battery/domestic Viol on Nw 108th Way on 09/22/2021.

Leger, Frantz J., 34, was arrested on charges of Touch Or Strike/battery/domestic Viol on NW 79th Pl on 09/23/2021.

Heng, Jovani Van, 19, was arrested on charges of Reckless Driving-drives Any Veh Willful Disregard For Safety on Hillsboro Blvd on 09/26/2021.
