A Parkland investment advisor charged with kidnapping, false imprisonment, and other crimes was re-arrested Monday, days after being fired from his job at Royal Bank of Canada Wealth Management, according to the company.

Scott Jay Matalon, 40, of the 9000 block of Parkland Bay Dr., allegedly beat and held a woman against her will in his home July 5—three weeks after allegedly battering a different woman in Boca Raton, court records show.

Matalon was re-arrested by the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office Monday for violating the conditions of his release in the Boca case. The violation was his arrest in Parkland, court records show.

He was being held without bond at Palm Beach County Jail late Monday.

Matalon is an SEC-registered investment advisor and broker. He was previously a managing director with Matalon Financial Group, part of RBC Wealth Management.

“Mr. Matalon’s employment at RBC was terminated at the conclusion of an investigation,” an RBC spokesperson said in an email statement.

In the Boca case, a female victim provided a sworn video statement on June 15 stating “she has been getting physically abused by Matalon and that today, Matalon kicked her off her bed, causing her to fly off the bed and hit her back against a dresser,” court records show.

Palm Beach County prosecutors charged Matalon with battery. He was released on a $10,000 bond and pleaded not guilty, court records show.

In the Parkland case, Matalon allegedly battered and injured a different woman, pursuing her as she fled to a neighbor’s for help, according to the Broward Sheriff’s Office. He carried her back inside his home against her will, then held her in a closet, muffling her cries for help while deputies knocked on the door, deputies said.

They eventually entered and arrested Matalon, charging him with kidnapping, false imprisonment, domestic battery by strangulation, and battery. He was released on a $117,500 bond in that case and has entered a not guilty plea, records show.
