For their last high school football game, a pair of Parkland athletes were selected to the Miami-Dade vs. Broward All-Star Game.

Dean Gordon (Pine Crest) and Hervin Louis (Marjory Stoneman Douglas) are part of the matchup that features the top players in Broward and Miami-Dade County competing against each other on Saturday, January 8 at Traz Powell Stadium in Miami at 4:30.

Dean Gordon

Gordon’s highlight this season was when he kicked a 40-yard field goal to upset La Salle High School in the postseason. He recorded 27 extra points and was one of the top kickers in the country during his junior season.

“It is extremely special to be selected for this game,” Gordon said. “I’m excited to compete against some of the top players and get a chance to interact with them.”

Gordon is officially committed to playing at Amherst College in Massachusetts in the fall of 2022.

Two seasons on the varsity football team and tallied 228 yards on 18 catches with four touchdowns. Louis won eight games while playing varsity and was a part of the 2020 Eagles’ District Championship.

He was also selected to the Florida Athletic Coaches Association North-South Football All-Star Game and won MVP as he recorded the catches for 40 yards. Louis is not yet committed but certainly has the skills to compete for many of the country’s top teams.
