Through our joint effort with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to share updates to residents, this is a summary of crimes and other Parkland incidents through November 16.
Animal Bite
8500 block of Nw 72nd St – The Ranches
On November 13, while jogging in the Ranches, a female adult victim was bitten on the left thigh and left arm by an unknown dog. Coral Springs-Parkland Fire Rescue responded but was refused. An area canvas and several neighbor contacts were negative in locating the dog.
Assault
10300 block of Cameilla St – Parkland Golf & Country Club
On November 14, BSO was called regarding a domestic dispute between husband and wife that occurred the night before. During the altercation, both parties made threatening gestures towards each other, and both believed the other would cause them harm. A not-in-custody probable cause affidavit was submitted for review for both parties.
Auto Theft
7500 block of NW 61st – Mill Run
On November 11, the victim alleged between the listed dates and times, an unknown person(s) removed his 2017 Lexus IS200T, which was parked in his driveway at the listed address without his permission or authority.
Battery
7000 block of NW 66th Ter
On November 13, a woman advised that she had a physical altercation with her husband. During the altercation, the husband threw a slice of pizza, striking her in the chest. He was arrested and transported to BSO Main Jail.
Burglary Conveyance
5900 block of NW 99th Way – The Landings
On November 10, an unknown person entered a vehicle through an unlocked door. The glove box and center console were rummaged through, but no items were taken.
5800 block of NW 100th Way – The Landings
On November 10, a 2017 gray Jeep Grand Cherokee and a 2011 white Mazda CX-9 were parked on the driveways overnight. An unknown person entered the vehicles through unlocked doors. The center consoles were rummaged through, but no items were taken.
Burglary Residence
10000 block of NW 59th Ct – The Landings
On November 10, a 2020 Volvo XC-40 was parked in the garage overnight. The garage door was left open, while the house was occupied by the victim. An unknown person entered the open garage and then the vehicle through an unlocked door. The glovebox and center console were rummaged through. A fleet gas card and about $10 were stolen.
7200 block of NW 58th Way – Park Wood
On November 13, the victim was in Nicaragua for the past eight months, and the mother of the victim checked on the residence two weeks ago and said it was secure. However, she checked on the residence on November 13, at 10:30 am, and observed the rear slider smashed out and the house rummaged through. She believed items missing, including a Samsung TV and a three-ring wedding set, white gold w/diamonds, value of $2,500. The victim did not wish to file charges and will not be back in the country any time soon.
Criminal Mischief
12100 Heron Bay Blvd N – Heron Bay HOA
On November 14, a traffic monitoring lamp post knocked down by an unknown subject; there was video surveillance in use in the area according to security.
Extortion/ Blackmail
10600 block of NW 69th St – Fox Ridge
On November 13, the victim alleged he is being harassed and blackmail by the suspects he met on a dating site.
Information
12179 NW 69th Ct/NW 122nd Ave Heron Bay
On November 13, a dispute over the resident allegedly not picking up after his dog while walking it in the area.
Property Damage
10800 block of Windward St – Cascata
On November 10, the prior day, an unknown person was shooting a pellet gun inside Cascata. One of the pellets struck the impact glass sliding door of the homeowner’s house. The glass was cracked. There was no evidence of unlawful activity.
Theft
7200 block of NW 84th Ave – The Ranches
On October 8 and reported November 16, the victim alleged that between September 8 and last week, an unknown suspect(s) entered his opened trailer and stole two weed whackers valued at $1,100 total without his permission or authority.
