Through our joint effort with the Coconut Creek Police Department to share updates with residents, this is a summary of Coconut Creek’s crime and arrests through February 19, 2024.
Theft
Kohls was a victim of Theft – Retail/Shoplifting on N State Road 7 was reported on 02/17/2024. The total estimated loss was $1,147.
A victim of Theft – From Building at Wynmoor on Lucaya Lane was reported on 02/13/2024. A laptop was stolen. The total estimated loss was $1,000.
Home Depot was a Theft – Retail/Shoplifting victim on N State Road 7, reported on 02/14/2024. The total estimated loss was $577.
Kohls was a victim of Theft – Retail/Shoplifting on N State Road 7 was reported on 02/16/2024. The total estimated loss was $237.
Walgreens was a Theft – Retail/Shoplifting victim on Coconut Creek Parkway reported on 02/14/2024. The total estimated loss was $221.
Lou Bachrodt was a Vehicle Theft – Auto victim on N State Road 7 at Lou Bachrodt Chevrolet.
Counterfeiting
Publix was a victim of Counterfeiting on N State Road 7. The use of a Counterfeit $100 Bill was reported on 02/13/2024.
Elderly Abuse/Neglect
A victim of Elderly Abuse/Neglect at Ginger Tree. Elderly female self-neglect was reported on 02/14/2024.
A victim of Elderly Abuse/Neglect at Deerfield Lake was reported on 02/16/2024.
Burglary
A victim of Burglary – Residence was reported on Sunshine Drive on 02/16/2024. The total estimated loss was $61,069.
A victim of Burglary – Business at Extra Space Storage on W Hillsboro Blvd was reported on 02/15/2024. The total estimated loss was $3,500.
Animal Bite
A victim of an Animal Bite at Victoria Isles on NW 57 Place was reported on 02/15/2024. An animal-to-human dog bite was reported.
Fraud
A victim of Fraud – Wire/Computer/ATM at Coral Pointe on NW 57 Drive was reported on 02/18/2024. The total estimated loss was $27,538.
Walgreens was a Fraud – Wire/Computer/ATM victim on N State Road 7, reported on 02/18/2024. The total estimated loss was $5,420. Wire fraud via Western Union was reported.
A victim of Fraud – Other on Portofino Point at Wynmoor was reported on 02/16/2024. An unauthorized transfer of an American Airlines account was reported, where the total estimated loss was $3,245.
Weapon On School Property
A victim of Weapon-School Property at Monarch High School on Wiles Road was reported on 02/16/2024. A student had a weapon on the school grounds.
Arrests
Dickens, Lorenzo, Herbert, 25, was arrested on a charge of Aggravated Assault On Officer, Firefighter, EMT, Etcetera at 5300 W Atlantic Blvd on 02/13/2024.
Velatafur, Laura, 59, was arrested on a Petit Theft-2 Degree – 1 Offense charge at 5571 Hillsboro Blvd on 02/15/2024.
Sciupider, Cory, Taylor, 30, was arrested on a charge of DUI 2 Offense at 5400 W Sample Road on 02/15/2024.
Williams, Charles, 54, was arrested on a Petit Theft – 2 Degree – 1 Offense charge at 5571 W Hillsboro Blvd on 02/18/2024.
