Coconut Creek High School’s football fell 35-27 for the second time this season, facing Chaminade-Madonna, who came in as the third-best team in the country.

The Cougars fell behind 21-0 but responded with a pair of touchdowns to cut the lead to seven. James Hayes threw a 69-yard touchdown pass to Djovani Dominique before Eirik Simmons recorded a 23-yard score.

Chaminade-Madonna managed to score two more touchdowns, extending their lead by 21 points. However, Damaine Wilson intercepted the ball and scored the third touchdown for his team. Semaj Wilson also scored, reducing the gap to just eight points. With less than two minutes remaining, the Cougars had possession of the ball, but unfortunately, they threw an interception during their final drive.

Coconut Creek is now 4-2, heading into their game against Fort Lauderdale High School on Friday, October 6 at 7 p.m. They have only one win this season, which came against Deerfield Beach High School in their first game of the season.
