The City of Coconut Creek announces the upcoming Teen Political Forum, an annual event aimed at providing a platform for high school students to engage in meaningful discussions with esteemed political figures.

This open mic-style forum will enable young citizens to raise questions and converse with state, county, and local elected officials, addressing the issues that matter most to them.

Sponsored by the City of Coconut Creek, in collaboration with Junior Achievement of South Florida, Atlantic Technical College, and Broward College, the Teen Political Forum seeks to empower the youth by fostering an environment that encourages civic participation and amplifies their voices.

By providing direct access to influential decision-makers, this event aims to bridge the gap between young constituents and their elected representatives.

This year’s panelists include Florida State Senator Tina Polsky, Florida State Representative Christine Hunschofsky, Broward County Commissioner Mark Bogen, Broward County School Board Member Nora Rupert, Coconut Creek Mayor Joshua Rydell, Coconut Creek Vice Mayor Sandra Welch, and Coconut Creek Chief of Police Butch Arenal.

The Teen Political Forum is open to individuals of all ages who are eager to witness the exchange of ideas and contribute to vibrant discussions.

The event will take place on Wednesday, May 17, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Junior Achievement of South Florida, located at 1130 Coconut Creek Boulevard.

Admission to the Teen Political Forum is free of charge, and no pre-registration is required.
