A proclamation was given by Broward County Commission Michael Udine to the Coral Springs Museum of Art for using art as a tool for therapeutic purposes to inspire healing and comfort to the Coral Springs and Parkland communities after February 14.

Bloomberg Philanthropies selected Coral Springs for their public art challenge awarding them a $1 million grant.

Attended by Museum Director Julia Andrews, Parkland Mayor Christine Hunschofsky, Coral Springs Mayor pro tem Joy Carter and Parkland City Commissioners Ken Cutler, Stacy Kagan, Bob Mayersohn and Rich Walker, Udine encouraged commission members to drive by Sample Road across from Coral Springs City Hall to see the new “Tower of Time” being built by artist David Best.

“That temple, they’re still working on –  and anticipate burning it down in May, will burn all the ‘bad vibes’ away,” he said.

Breakfast was provided by Commissioner Udine for Tuesday’s meeting which was prepared and served through J.P. Taravella’s ProStart program under the direction of teacher and chef Scott Goodman.
