Parkland Crime Update: Aggravated Battery and Criminal Mischief

Through our joint effort with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to share updates with residents, this is a summary of crimes and other Parkland incidents through Sept. 5, 2022.

Aggravated Battery

Blueridge Ln.

A person was the victim of an Aggravated Battery on 09/04/2022.

Assist Other Agency

NW 62nd Ter.

On 09/05/2022, deputies responded in reference to a possible overdose. Upon arrival, deputies observed the person overdosing, and NARCAN was administered. Coral Springs-Parkland Fire Rescue responded and transported person to Northwest Medical Center.

Criminal Mischief

Aqua Ct.

On 09/05/2022, the reporter stated that suspects unknown destroyed a sign in her front yard. The sign was valued at $450.

Information

Parkland Bay Ter.

On 8/30/2022, a man contacted the Broward Sheriff`s Office Parkland District to file an information report. He explained he purchased a used piano from a person in Miami that morning as a gift for his wife, then contacted a moving service and had a verbal agreement with the company to move the piano from Miami to Parkland at a rate of $199 for the first 3 hours, and $99 each additional hour. He never met with the mover or signed any contract. He was contacted later by the mover requesting the bill be paid in full in cash when they arrive at his Parkland home. The bill would be $1,992, and if the mover did not receive the cash upon delivery, they told the victim he would never see the piano again. When questioned why the bill was so high, the mover explained there were fuel charges and assembly of the piano and mileage, which the victim explained was never talked about. He was instructed to call dispatch at 954-764-4357 as soon as the movers arrived at his home, and BSO would send a unit out to assist.

Runaway

On 09/03/22, a girl was reported as a runaway. The subject had been in a verbal altercation with her father over her not coming home the night before. The subject left the residence after the argument and called home, advising her father she would be home in a few days. The subject was entered into NCIC/FCIC.

Suspicious Incident

E. Baypoint Cir.

On 09/02/2022, the reporter alleged that her cleaning lady seemed to have disappeared leaving behind her cell phone, purse with all its contents, and sneakers.

Arrest

Oneil, Lawrence Eli, 52, was arrested on charges of Aggrav Battery-person Uses A Deadly Weapon on Blueridge Ln on 09/04/2022.
