Parkland Crime Update: Indecent Exposure at Store

Through our joint effort with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to share updates with residents, this is a summary of crimes and other Parkland incidents through Sept. 12, 2022.

Burglary Conveyance

Trails End

On 09/10/2022, a victim arrived at the park. She left her work tote containing items in her 2021 White Lexus NX300 on the rear passenger side seat floor. When she returned to the vehicle approximately 15 minutes later, the victim observed her rear passenger window was smashed, and her tote bag containing her belongings was gone. Tot. Est. Loss: $1,390.

Domestic Disturbance

NW 62nd Way

On 09/10/2022, a mother told deputies that her 27-year-old daughter posted nude photos of herself on a social media site. She said she feared her daughter was headed for a future in prostitution.

Fraud

Location Redacted

On 09/09/2022, deputies responded about possible fraud. The victims stated they were notified by a bail bondsman on 09/06/2022 via text that their son was incarcerated in Monroe County. The victims then sent a Zelle payment to the bondsman for the release of their son. The victims never heard back from the bondsman and discovered his name was fictitious, and he was not an employee of any bond agency. Tot. Est. Loss: $610.

Indecent Exposure

Hillsboro Blvd.

A woman was the victim of Indecent Exposure/Lewd Lascivious Act on 09/09/2022. The victim was shopping inside a business whose name was redacted. While in an aisle, she noticed the subject staring at her, with his penis exposed through the front of his basketball pants. The subject ran out of the store and fled in an unknown direction.

Holmberg Rd/Pine Island Rd.

On 09/07/2022, a female was walking on the sidewalk protesting about Parkland school shooter Nikolas Cruz being autistic.

Property Damage

Pine Island Rd.

On 09/08/2022, a truck driver was unloading his truck when a piece of the cargo securement strap fell off and hit the victim’s windshield.

Theft

Bayside Ct.

A Theft From Building was reported on 09/06/2022. Unknown person(s) entered a new home under construction and removed six appliances from the site. Tot. Est. Loss: $9,986.

Arrest

Santacroce, Shane Thomas, 44, was arrested on charges of Warrant/grand Theft Of The 2nd Degree at 6803 Nw 116th Ave on 09/09/2022.
