Parkland Crime Update: Louis Vuitton Items Stolen in Car Burglary

Through our joint effort with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to share updates with residents, this is a summary of crimes and other Parkland incidents through Sept. 26, 2022.

Burglary Conveyance

Trails End

On 09/23/22, a victim returned to her vehicle and discovered her driver’s side rear passenger side window smashed in. She alleged the missing items were her light brown colored purse which had been located on the floorboard behind the passenger seat. The purse contained her Louis Vuitton wallet, FL driver’s license, US and Haitian passport, 1 debit card, 5 credit cards, gold rosary with jade stone, and 2 designer sunglasses (Ray Ban & Louis Vuitton), a total loss of $4,280.

Retail Theft/ Shoplifting

Hillsboro Blvd.

On 09/20/2022, a store was the victim of retail theft. A dark blue or purple newer model Nissan Sentra was the car used by the suspect.  The suspect entered the store and stole a JBL Party Box 310 speaker worth $550.

Suspicious Incident

Parkside Dr.

On 09/21/2022, there was a report of a suspicious vehicle in the rear parking lot near a daycare. The vehicle was gone on arrival and not located.

Theft

Loxahatchee Rd.

A person was the victim of Theft – All Other on 09/21/2022. A resident discovered that a bag containing a variety of jewelry was missing from its normal location. Tot. Est. Loss: $1,450.

Theft From Building

Vivar Run

On 09/21/2022, an unknown suspect entered an unsecured home under construction. Once inside the suspect removed 50 pieces of plywood without permission. Total valued at $3,000.

Threat Assessment Report

Holmberg Rd.

On 09/21/2022, school resource deputies met with a school employee at the school’s “single point entry” office regarding a parent who became irate when asked to produce identification before the school could release a child to the parent. The parent made a comment that the school employee thought was threatening. The parent was able to produce identification that the school employee said was acceptable, and the parent left the school with his son without further incident.

Pine Island Rd.

On 09/23/2022, a student was doodling inappropriate things in his notebook. A student behavioral threat assessment was completed.
