Two Parkland students are currently appearing in the ensemble of Slow Burn Theatre Company’s critically-acclaimed production of Matilda: The Musical.
Ellie Rose Pulsifer, 11, and Jack Rodman, 12, star in the musical, which opened on March 25 and continues through Sunday, April 10.
A student at Parkland Somerset Academy, Ellie is an actor, singer, and dancer last seen in Gypsy at The Wick Theatre. Other productions include The Jungle Book (Mowgli), Shrek (Young Fiona), Legally Blonde (Elle Woods), Matilda (Matilda), Descendants (Audrey), and Annie (Molly).
Jack, who is in the sixth grade at North Broward Prep, has been acting since he was four. He now appears in his second professional show with Slow Burn Theatre, previously portraying Grover Dill in A Christmas Story The Musical in 2019.
When Jack was seven, he had his first professional role at Stage Door Theater as Little Guido in Nine. He is also heavily involved in Children’s theater at Broadway Bound in Coral Springs. Some of his most recent roles were Ms. Trunchbull in another production of Matilda, Emmet in Legally Blonde, and in May plays Troy Bolton in High School Musical. During quarantine, Jack created “Driveway Musicals,” providing hours of entertainment for his community and earning a mention on the Today show.
