Two local high schools will showcase their academic excellence in the 15th season of School Duel, the premier high school quiz show produced by Broward County Public Schools BECON-TV.
The competition kicks off on Thursday, February 27, at 8 p.m.
Coconut Creek High School and Monarch High School will represent Coconut Creek in this year’s competition. These schools will compete against other top teams from Broward, Palm Beach, and Miami-Dade counties in a battle of knowledge covering history, literature, math, science, the arts, and pop culture.
Returning as host, Lisa Lee Arneaud will guide students through the fast-paced academic challenge, where quick thinking and teamwork are essential. A total of 24 schools will vie for the championship title and top prizes, including a year’s worth of Chick-fil-A for the first-place team, courtesy of Chick-fil-A South Florida, and cash awards for the runner-up from Brightstar Credit Union.
All participating students will receive trophies from EDCO Awards & Specialties. Other sponsors supporting the competition include the Museum of Discovery and Science, Publix Supermarket, and Trader Joe’s.
