Broward Health Medical Center staff recently bid a touching farewell to Rose Valderrosa, a cherished member of their team who retired after 33 years of dedicated service.
The Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) and Coronary Care Unit (CCU) nurse manager was honored with a surprise retirement party, aptly themed ‘Roses’ in honor of Rose’s name.
The party featured a floral archway created by her colleagues. It brought together her family, including her children, who traveled from Los Angeles and New York, and her husband, Jomari, to celebrate her remarkable career.
A resident of Coconut Creek for 35 years, Rose has been a cornerstone of the hospital where two of her children were born. Her personal journey with the hospital is also significant; she fought her own battle with breast cancer as a patient there.
Rose and Jamari have been married for 40 years and plan to travel during retirement. “We have booked trips all the way to October next year,” she said.
