Cece and Parchessi at Broward County Animal Care.
Broward County Animal Care has named Cece, a 5-year-old American Staffordshire terrier mix, and Parchessi, an approximately 2-year-old domestic shorthair cat, as its Pets of the Week.
Cece (A2419754) is a lanky, playful dog who has been waiting far too long for a permanent home. She was surrendered by her owner in April because they no longer had time for her, then returned by an adopter after 10 days because of allergies.
Despite the setbacks, Cece remains affectionate and full of energy. She thrives in shelter playgroups, where she loves to run and romp with other dogs her size, and she shines on her Broward Buddies outings, when volunteers take her out on the town and she gets to show off her easygoing, social personality.
Now living in a loving foster home, Cece is still searching for a forever family. She is spayed, up to date on vaccinations and microchipped. Thanks to sponsor Lisa Wade, the Pet Realtor, Cece’s registration fee is covered and her adoption fees are waived.
Anyone interested in meeting Cece can email foster@broward.org to schedule a visit.
Parchessi (A2449916) is a striking gray-and-white domestic shorthair cat with a personality as cool as his name. Surrendered by his owner due to having too many pets, he is now looking for a new start as a working cat.
Parchessi is not a cuddly lap cat, but he is an ideal choice for someone seeking a low-maintenance feline to help keep critters in check. With his good looks and sharp instincts, he’s well-suited for a non-traditional home such as a barn, warehouse, or workshop, where he can provide pest control in exchange for food, water, and shelter.
He comes ready for the job: Parchessi is neutered, ear-tipped, vaccinated, and microchipped. His adoption fees are waived, and Animal Care will provide basic supplies, including a crate carrier and litter box, to help with his transition.
Prospective adopters can meet Parchessi in person at Broward County Animal Care, 2400 SW 42nd St. in Fort Lauderdale.
All pets adopted from Broward County Animal Care are spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. In general, adopters pay only $25 for the Broward County registration tag.
