Residents who live near Sabal Pines Park will soon see a new pump station.
During the April 23 meeting, the commission passed a resolution to approve an agreement between the city and Hoover Pumping Systems for the purchase of a new irrigation pump station at Sabal Pines Park for $112,489.
On April 25, 2024, the commission approved Hoover as the single source for irrigation pump station replacements for a five-year period.
The existing irrigation pump station at Sabal Pines Park has reached the end of its useful life, needs to be replaced, and was already included in the fiscal year 2026 budget, according to city information.
In addition to pump station matters, the commission also passed a resolution approving an amendment to the interlocal agreement for the Solid Waste Disposal and Recyclable Materials Processing Authority of Broward County. The city is among 28 in the county expected to participate in this agreement, according to city information.
Under the agreement, the facilities amendment must still be approved by the Broward County Board of County Commissioners and by the governing bodies of the municipal parties representing at least 80% of the total population to take effect, according to city information.
