Kiernan O’Neill has found his new home.
The Coconut Creek native and 2025 North Broward Prep graduate announced his commitment to the University of South Florida after spending his freshman season at the University of Central Florida.
O’Neill’s baseball journey began in the Margate Recreational League at just 3 years old, then transitioned to travel baseball with the Margate Legacy, where he spent the next 4 years. He later played his sophomore season at Coral Springs Charter, batting .295 with one home run and 13 RBIs before transferring to North Broward Prep and helping the school’s program become one of the nation’s premier high school baseball programs.
During his two seasons with the Eagles, O’Neill batted .387 with four home runs, 30 RBIs, 19 doubles and four triples. All four of his home runs came during his senior season. He also excelled on the mound, posting a 1.19 ERA while striking out 44 batters in 29.1 innings.
Although O’Neill redshirted during his lone season at the University of Central Florida, he earned recognition in the classroom by being named to the Big 12 All-Academic Rookie Team.
He now joins a South Florida program that finished 32-21 last season and has reached the NCAA Tournament 14 times in school history, including a Super Regional appearance in 2021. The Bulls have also consistently produced professional talent, with 120 players selected in the MLB Draft, including at least 3 in each of the past 2 drafts.
