Coconut Creek Recreational Complex {Aiden Palmer}
The City of Coconut Creek is offering a new Homeschool Physical Education program designed to introduce children to a variety of sports while building basic skills, sportsmanship, and social interaction.
The six-week program runs on Thursdays from Feb. 5 through March 12, from 10 to 11:30 a.m., and is open to children ages 5 to 11. Participants will learn the fundamentals of multiple sports, take part in group scrimmages, and engage in activities that encourage teamwork and positive social development.
Classes will be held at the Coconut Creek Recreation Complex, located at 4455 Sol Press Blvd.
The cost is $35 for Coconut Creek residents and $45 for non-residents. To qualify for the resident rate, participants must provide a state-issued driver’s license or a valid passport for identification, along with proof of Coconut Creek residency. Acceptable documents include a valid voter registration card or a water, cable or electric bill dated within two months of submission.
Registration is open until the program reaches capacity, which is 10 participants. Payment is by credit card only.
Families may register online at CoconutCreek.gov/Webtrac or in person at the Recreation Complex or the Community Center, 1100 Lyons Road. A WebTrac account is required for online registration. Assistance with setting up an account is available by calling the Recreation Complex at 954-956-1580.
To verify a participant’s age and legal guardianship, families may be asked to present a copy of the child’s birth certificate at a walk-in registration location.
