The City of Coconut Creek is encouraging residents to take a step toward a healthier lifestyle with the launch of “Footsteps at the Track,” a six-week walking club designed to promote fitness and community engagement.
The program, open to participants 18 and older, kicks off on Wednesday, April 9, and runs through May 14. Sessions will be held weekly from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the outdoor track behind the Recreation Complex at Lyons Creek Middle School, located at 4455 Sol Press Boulevard. Participants are asked to park at the Recreation Complex.
The walking club’s goal is to reach 4,000 steps per session, which equates to approximately eight laps around the track. Those who meet or exceed this goal will earn a special walking club shirt to celebrate their achievement.
Registration is now open and will continue until all spots are filled. Space is limited to 10 participants, and fees are set at $20 for Coconut Creek residents and $30 for non-residents. Payments must be made by credit card.
Interested individuals can register online at CoconutCreek.net/WebTrac or in person at the Recreation Complex or the Community Center at 1100 Lyons Road. A WebTrac account is required for online registration. Those needing assistance with setting up an account can contact the Recreation Complex at 954-956-1580.
