A Coconut Creek woman was arrested after investigators say she created and transmitted sexually explicit videos involving her five-year-old daughter to a man she planned to engage in sexual activity with involving the child.
According to Margate Police Department arrest records, Teyonna Charnelle Canady, 36, was taken into custody on September 26 following a law enforcement investigation triggered by a Priority 1 Cybertip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC).
Authorities say the Cybertip, which originated from the messaging app KIK, flagged an account allegedly belonging to Canady that shared child sexual abuse material and engaged in graphic chats describing abuse.
Records show detectives later identified Canady as the account holder after tracing the Internet Protocol address back to her residence.
According to the report, multiple videos show Canady sexually assaulting the child. These videos were allegedly then sent via KIK – using the account name thickchoclate89_y4r – in a private chat that details fantasies of the two sexually assaulting the child.
The complaint affidavit states that investigators reviewed multiple videos showing the young child being sexually abused by Canady. In one video, the woman was wearing a JetBlue t-shirt with an airport ID badge, linking her employment to the footage.
Detectives claim in one video that Canady can be seen getting naked and masturbating at what appears to be her job.
Detectives say the child, who is autistic and non-verbal, was recovered safely from the residence during Canady’s arrest. Officers also seized electronic devices, including the phone allegedly used to record and transmit the videos.
During an interview, Canady reportedly admitted to showering with her daughter and touching her inappropriately while filming the videos. She also acknowledged engaging in explicit online chats with another user, but claimed she never intended to meet anyone in person.
Canady was arrested and transported to the Broward County Main Jail, where she is currently held without bond.
