Do The Right Thing of Coconut Creek and the Coconut Creek Police Department will host their 5th Annual Auction, featuring trips, sports memorabilia, collectibles, and local experiences to support the community’s youth recognition program.
The annual fundraiser will be held Thursday, September 17, from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. at World of Beer, 4437 Lyons Road, Suite 101.
According to CCPD, the Do The Right Thing awards program has been part of the City of Coconut Creek since 2018 and is intended to foster positive relationships between local law enforcement and young people in the community. It recognizes students for acts such as bravery, courage, volunteering, helping law enforcement or first responders, leadership, heroism, and positive role-model behavior.
Bidding for the annual auction is already available online and will close at 7:30 p.m. on the night of the event. Winning bidders are encouraged to pick up their items at the event, although other pickup arrangements can be made.
Among the biggest items up for grabs are several vacation packages, including a four-night all-inclusive stay in Punta Cana, a three-night New Orleans getaway that includes a food tour, and a Smoky Mountain getaway for two. The New Orleans package starts at $800, while bidding on the Smoky Mountain trip begins at $600.
South Florida sports fans will also have plenty to bid on. The auction includes a basketball autographed by the Miami Heat, along with memorabilia tied to some of South Florida’s biggest sports names, including signed items connected to the Miami Heat, Florida Panthers, Miami Dolphins, Miami Hurricanes, and Florida State.
Other offerings include dining and wellness packages, wine experiences, fitness classes, and local gift certificates.
The event runs until 8:00 p.m., but bidders must submit their final offers before the 7:30 p.m. auction deadline.
