The Coconut Creek Police Department is searching for retired law enforcement officers interested in extending their careers in support of the community.
They are actively recruiting experienced individuals for part-time School Resource Officer positions, offering a new hire package with competitive pay, bonuses, and numerous benefits.
The city says its drive to hire a crop of new Resource Officers includes offering an attractive hourly rate of $39.03, placing it among the best in the county. Successful applicants will also benefit from a generous $4,500 retention bonus and the prospect of a take-home car if desired.
Prospective candidates will find additional perks, such as the availability of the Florida Retirement System with certain restrictions and 40 hours of paid vacation. The City of Coconut Creek also allows employees to receive the monetary equivalent of their accrued vacation time if not utilized.
Applicants must undergo a comprehensive criminal history check, including FCIC/NCIC, and have a clean driving record. Successful candidates must also meet the Florida Department of Law Enforcement Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission requirements and the City of
All interested applications must be prepared for a work schedule during school days, Monday to Friday, from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., with the possibility of variations depending on the assigned school. The schedule excludes teacher planning, holidays, and the summer break.
