Man Accused of Secretly Recording Teenager in Bathroom in Coconut Creek

A man is accused of secretly recording a teenager in the bathroom after his wife allegedly discovered deleted videos on his iPhone, police said.

According to a Coconut Creek Police Department arrest report, Oscar Ivan Larragoiti Santiago, 44, of Fort Lauderdale, was arrested July 6 on a charge of digital voyeurism involving a minor after officers responded to a residence in Coconut Creek after receiving a call.

The victim’s mother told police she had recently become concerned about her husband’s behavior and decided to search his iPhone. While reviewing the device, she allegedly recovered several deleted videos.

Investigators said the recovered videos allegedly depicted the teenager inside the home’s bathroom while showering, using the toilet, or otherwise nude and unaware she was being recorded. Police said the recordings were dated between January 18 and June 17.

The mother told officers she had been in a relationship with Larragoiti Santiago for 14 years and had been married to him for 13 years. After confronting him about the videos, she told investigators he left the residence on foot with his Mexican passport.

Police later interviewed the alleged victim, who became upset and cried after learning about the recordings. According to the affidavit, she told investigators she had no idea she had been secretly recorded.

According to investigators, Larragoiti Santiago returned to the residence while officers were still on scene and was taken into custody. His iPhone 8 was seized and turned over to detectives as evidence.

Larragoiti Santiago was booked into the Broward Main Jail and is being held without bond.
