The community is invited to join the family of Army Spc. Daniel J. Agami for a bridge-naming dedication ceremony on Tuesday, Dec. 16, at noon at Coconut Creek Veterans’ Park, located at the corner of Lyons Road and Sample Road.
The ceremony will formally designate the State Road 7 (U.S. 441) bridge over Sample Road as The SPC Daniel J. Agami Bridge, honoring the life, service, and sacrifice of the Coconut Creek soldier who was killed in action on June 21, 2007, while serving in Iraq. He was 25 years old.
The dedication follows the passage of Florida House Bill 987, which authorized the naming in recognition of Spc. Agami’s service to his country.
Family, friends, community members, and local veterans are encouraged to attend the ceremony, which will include remarks and a presentation honoring Agami’s legacy. His parents, Itzhak and Beth Becker-Agami, Gold Star parents who have continued to honor their son’s memory through community involvement and veteran support, will be in attendance.
Spc. Agami, born Jan. 2, 1982, served with distinction in the U.S. Army and is remembered for his bravery, dedication, and love for his country. The newly named bridge will stand as a permanent reminder of his sacrifice and the community’s enduring gratitude.
The public is welcome to join the Agami family in paying tribute to their son during this dedication ceremony.
