The Coral Springs Coconut Creek Regional Chamber of Commerce will bring together business, education, government and nonprofit leaders for a workforce development luncheon on Thursday, Aug. 27, highlighting partnerships designed to prepare students for future careers and strengthen Broward County’s workforce.
The event, titled Partners in Progress: Education & Workforce Impact Luncheon, will begin at 11:30 a.m. at the Fern Forest Nature Center in Coconut Creek. It replaces the Chamber’s traditional August Wake Up Breakfast with a program focused on workforce development and educational collaboration.
According to the Chamber, the luncheon will showcase partnerships among schools, municipalities, higher education institutions and employers that connect students with career opportunities while addressing workforce needs across the region.
Featured speakers include Broward County Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Howard Hepburn and Bernadette Hughes, government affairs manager for the City of Coconut Creek.
The event will also include the Coral Springs Coconut Creek Regional Chamber Education Foundation Micro-Grant Awards presentation, recognizing local educators and schools that received grant funding for classroom projects aimed at encouraging creativity, career readiness and student achievement.
“Workforce development begins long before someone enters the job market,” Chamber President and CEO Charinus Davis said. “The Chamber is proud to work alongside our school district, municipalities, business community, and nonprofit partners to build a stronger workforce pipeline. By investing in education today, we are creating tomorrow’s business leaders, entrepreneurs, and skilled professionals while strengthening our local economy.”
