Broward County Animal Care and Adoption
By: Sharon Aron Baron
On Sunday, Broward County Animal Care and Adoption asks shelters across the country to pledge not to euthanize any non-suffering animals that day – but rather, help find them homes.
On June 11, they will participate in “Just One Day” a nationwide event that waives all adoption fees and deposits on pets.
“We’re committed to providing every animal in our care the opportunity for adoption or reclaim,” said Thomas Adair, Director of Broward County Animal Care and Adoption Division. “We hope that this national pledge to save animals will continue to grow and promote a culture of change across the U.S.”
In addition, Bryan Carstensen, aka Miss Bryan, radio personality with the HITS 97.3, will broadcast live from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., urging listeners to come out and adopt.
Pet adoptions include spaying/neutering, a physical exam, all necessary vaccinations, a Broward County Rabies Registration tag and a microchip.
The Just One Day concept was founded by No Kill Nation, a nationwide animal advocacy group, which encourages shelters and communities to support homeless pets through comprehensive on-and off-site adoption events, as well as other life-saving programs.
Broward County Animal Care is located at 2400 SW 42nd Street in Fort Lauderdale, FL. Directions from Parkland: Map it.
