Lyons Creek Middle School competed in a regional meet on Tuesday at Coral Springs High School.
The girls’ team had three second-place finishes: Asia Ali competing in the 1600 meters, Jahnae Zephirin participating in the 100 hurdles, and Naomi Rivera-Telesford shining in the long jump. Lyons Creek also had the 4 x 100 relay and 4 x 200 relay place third. Ariana Beccaris also placed third in the long jump, Zephirin placed fourth in the 400 meters, and Brianna Montalvo finished fourth in the 100 hurdles.
Laila Abdullah, Corbin Thomas, Jada Fulmore, Azoriana White, Skylar Toussaint, Adrianne Moss, and Naomi Rivera-Telesford all placed in the top ten, while Khloe Owens, La’Nya Smith, Raquel Robertson, Brianna Montalvo, Jameria Griffin, Jameria Griffin, Lyric Burks, Mariah Anderson, Addison Troyano, Megan Zapata, and Jada Fullmore all competed.
Elilah Lewis placed fifth in the shot put for the boys, and three relay teams placed in the top ten. The 4 x 400 relay came in sixth, the 4 x 200 relay placed second, and the 4 x 100 relay team came in 10th. David Hirst had the top time in the 100 meters for Lyons Creek, while Daniel Pierre was next to finish. Patrick Lowe ran in the 200 meters, and both Louis and Ryder Kaplan competed in the 400 meters.
