With summer winding down and students preparing to head back to school, the city is giving families a chance to meet their school resource officers at a special Parkland event.
Held on Monday, August 1, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., parents and children can meet SROs, and members of the Broward Sheriff’s Office and learn about programs and activities offered at the Parkland Recreation and Enrichment Center.
Mayor Rich Walker said it’s a great night for both new and seasoned Parkland parents and students to meet their SROs, principals, PTO, PTA, and SAC members.
As part of the nationwide event called National Night Out, this one, presented by BSO and the Coral Springs-Parkland Fire Department, will include emergency vehicle displays, music, food, and more.
“We really look forward to seeing everyone on Monday night,” said Walker.
Pine Trails Park is located at 10555 Trails End.
