Monarch High School has some bright, dedicated seniors looking forward to college this fall.
Emily Baker, Monarch High School’s valedictorian, has a 5.53 grade point average and will study nursing at Florida State University.
During her time at Monarch, Baker earned the Advanced International Certificate of Education (AICE) diploma offered through the University of Cambridge. She was a leader in Key Club and active in the National Honor Society and National English Honor Society. She enjoys studying Algebra and Biology.
“I am looking forward to going to Florida State this fall and pursuing a career in nursing,” she said.
Catherine Pang, the salutatorian, has a 5.5 GPA and will attend the University of Florida this fall. She earned an AICE diploma and was a member of the National Honor Society and the National English Honor Society. She was also the webmaster and secretary for the Key Club. Pang enjoys studying math, biology and psychology.
Baker and Pang were among a group of high school students from city schools honored for their high school accomplishments during the May 8 Coconut Creek commission meeting. Monarch’s principal James Cecil said he was proud of their academic achievements.
