A Look Inside Spring Break Options for Kids in Parkland

With spring break just around the corner, parents may be eager to find activities to help prevent a week of boredom and aggravation. There are several options for students around Parkland to consider.

The following camps are from Monday, March 21 through Friday, March 25.

Kingdom Training Basketball Camp

Kingdom Training’s spring break basketball camp for boys and girls ages 5-15 includes everything basketball– intense drills to master the fundaments, skill-building activities, and fun games all packaged together to improve and maximize each child’s potential. The fun takes place on the courts inside the Parkland Recreation Center gymnasium.

The co-ed camp runs daily from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., with extended hours available. Lunch is provided, and prices are $275 per week for residents and $330 per week for non-residents. Sibling discounts are available. Visit KingdomTraining.com.

5678 Dance Spring Camp

5678 Dance is offering a Spring Dance Camp located at the PREC. Dancers 5 and older of all levels interested in spending their day learning technique, choreography, and having fun with friends are welcome. Dancers will learn jazz, acro, ballet, contemporary, lyrical, hip hop, tap, and more. The camp runs daily from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and prices are $290 per week for residents and $348 per week for non-residents. Space is limited, and pre-registration is required.

City of Parkland Spring Break Camp

The city will have a spring break camp at the Parkland Recreation Center for children K-5, daily from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Students will travel every day to great locations like the Cox Science Center & Aquarium, Off the Wall, and Bowlero. The cost for the week is $275 for Parkland residents and $330 for non-residents.

Athletic Republic Spring Break Camp

Join Athletic Republic during spring break to participate in several different sports. Predominantly held outside, the kids will be divided into age groups to play structured sports, like football, baseball, wiffleball, volleyball, basketball, and dodgeball. Daily, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The cost is $275 for residents and $330 for non-residents, and a 10% sibling discount. Registration must be in person at the PREC.

Volleyball Spring Break Skills Camp

New this year is a Volleyball Spring Break Skills Camp for participants of all skill levels aged 9 to 16. The camp will be held indoors at the PREC and run daily from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Space is limited, and pre-registration is required. The cost is $150 for residents and $180 for non-residents.

Art Paper Scissors Art Camp

Daily from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., children starting at age 7, can explore their creativity through the art-focused curriculum. From painting to mixed media, they will be introduced to various mediums and styles. Projects will be adapted to the needs and comfort levels of all children. The cost is $55 per day, and the camp will be limited to 16 children. Art Paper Scissors is located at 6654 Parkside Drive.

Code Ninjas

Code Ninjas Camps empower kids to gain valuable tech skills and make new friends. Explore game concepts through Roblox, no matter your level – from beginner to expert. Children ages 7 to 14 can participate from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. for $85 per day. Code Ninjas is located at 4669 N. University Drive, Suite 47-48, in Coral Springs.

American Twisters Gymnastics Fun Days

Children ages five and up can choose from daily gymnastics fun days or participate all week long, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., with aftercare available. Each day of camp is $100, or the cost is $450 for the week and includes the gymnastics camp session, healthy snacks and water each day, arts and crafts, movie time, gymnastics instruction, fun, and games. Spitfire Farm

Looking for a way to get your kids some fresh air and fun during winter break? Spitfire Farm has the perfect solution where kids can learn how to run a farm, care for horses, and participate in activities like painting horses and nature walks. Held at Tradewinds Park in Coconut Creek from Monday, March 21 through Friday, April 5.  The camp hours are 9 am-2 pm.  The daily rate is $85 per day, or for the week it would be $400.00. They offer pre-care which is from 8 am-9 am and aftercare from 2 pm-5:30 pm.  The pre/aftercare is $5 per hour.
