Sara Trost was well known for her generosity as a home designer, realtor, mother, wife, and more.

“Sara was the most giving and caring person to both those she personally knew and those who she was unfamiliar with,” said Rabbi Shuey Biston, who knew Sara since her relocation to Florida around eight years ago from Southend, Essex.

While in the driver’s seat of her car on Thursday, Trost, 40, was shot and killed outside a home she was showing near 5700 NW 48th Court in Coral Springs.

According to police, Raymond Wesley Reese, 51, was charged with first-degree murder and is being held without bond at the Palm Beach County Jail, where authorities took him after his arrest in Boca Raton.

According to The Guardian, a resident, Donna Smith, suggested that the shooter may have been a “disgruntled tenant” who was recently evicted from the home.

The British married mother of a three-year-old was an active volunteer for Paw Patrol Animal Rescue and Sanctuary, Trost was known for helping others, and local organizations want to do the same for her family.

“There wasn’t a community project or program Sara wouldn’t get behind,” said Biston. “She always wanted to help, and it was often anonymously.”

Through a joint effort, Chabad of Parkland and the Broward, Palm Beaches, and St. Lucie Realtors Association, created The Sara Trost Memorial Fund to ensure that all that was important to Sara will be passed on to her daughter.

Similar to a GoFundMe page, the Chesed, (meaning kindness) fund is a commission-free platform used mostly by Jewish organizations to benefit worthy causes.

Donations can be made online or by calling 518-323-0376 and mentioning campaign ID: 3184.

“Sara’s heart was full of love- love for her community, love for her friends, love for her family, love for her husband, Jason, but above all, love for the light of her life, her daughter Avery,” wrote Biston.
