If you have a paw-ssion for puppies, this weekend’s dog expo is right up your alley.

Bring your dog and their leash to Parkland’s first Homes Fur Dogs Expo featuring local pet vendors, food trucks, music, a caricature artist, and contests for both human and furry residents.

“We have the dog park and a lot of dog owners in Parkland, and we had been talking about doing this type of event for a while,” said Parks and Recreation Manager Scott Harrison.

The expo will be similar to a dog adopt-a-thon, with four agencies onsite: Paw Patrol Animal Rescue, Blue Waters Dog Rescue, Husky Haven, and Doberman Rescue.

“Saturday is a wonderful opportunity for residents to visit vendors for supplies or adoption agencies to inquire about meeting the newest four-legged member of their family,” said Mayor Rich Walker. “As a family with two rescue dogs ourselves, I know first-hand just how much love and joy pets can bring to a household.”

The expo takes place at Barkland Dog Park at 9245 Ranch Road, on Saturday, May 21, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
